BIOGRAPHY

Dr Vendrame is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in Italy and during the last years of the medical school became interested in pursuing a career in diabetes and endocrinology which led him to train in Italian and American institutions and practice medicine in both countries. Dr. Vendrame has a research interest in endocrine autoimmunity with a focus on type 1 diabetes. He is a well published author in highly ranked journal which include Diabetes and Diabetes Care, among the most prestigious diabetes journals. He is also the principal investigator at the University of Miami for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange, a multi-institutional collaboration to improve the lives and care of patients with type 1 diabetes.
